Recognition is the fourth step of the Association’s strategy to motivate, recruit and retain voluntary blood donors. Recognition of donors and donor organisations plays a crucial role for retaining donors. In all blood donation camps directly organised by the Association, the donors and donor organisations were awarded Certificates of Appreciation. The individual donors who have donated 10, 25, 50 & 75 times were honoured at the Annual Convocation at Kala Kunj, Kolkata on January 20, 2019. Likewise, the organisations, which organised blood donation camps for 10, 25 & 50 times in collaboration with the Association, were also awarded on this occasion. Out of our 20 nos. Challenge Trophies, after considering all criteria for the trophies, all the trophies could be awarded in this year’s Convocation. From last year instead of rolling trophies, newly designed memorial trophies were awarded to the recipients to be retained by the winner for good. All the blood donors of Football Lovers’ Day and World Thalassaemia Day were presented with special badges prepared for the occasion.
