Motivation is our second step to motivate, recruit and retain voluntary blood donors. Prior to holding blood donation camps seminar and motivation sessions are held if desired by the host organisation at their places, the audience being the prospective blood donors of the camp. For this purpose our trained volunteers deliver a short speech in listener friendly easy to understand common people’s language on various aspects of blood donation including basic science, statistical data and social need of blood donation followed by discussion and question-answer sessions. The listeners are also given take-home materials like booklets and leaflets carrying information about blood donation. The space is normally decorated with motivational posters of the Association. Often organisers have a group discussion in the office of the Association. These seminars are being held since the inception of the Association and have helped in spreading the message of voluntary blood donation deep down in the community. The seminars were organised in clubs, libraries, offices, trade union offices, factories and educational institutions.
