About
This is an innovative novel long term strategy of the Association to sensitise the young minds so that they become regular blood donor on attaining the age of 18 year. Introduced in 1980, it is an attractive value inculcation educational programme for 10+2 Students’ group students in classroom situation with various teaching aids like posters, flipcharts and chalk & board. The duration is 12 hours or 30 hours. The volunteers are trained to conduct the classes through university level module. There is a Guidebook both in English and Bengali with lesson plans in the principle of education. The volunteers contact the Institution by visits and fix up the programme. On the material day, the resource persons of the Association reaches the College/University with all materials and conducts the class, answers the question and distributes the take-home materials.
At the end of class attractive colourful take-home materials like folder, booklet, sun-sheds, class routines with messages are given to the students.
This is the first structured motivators’ training programme of the Association introduced in 1981 with Jadavpur University and happens to be the first such structured academic programme introduced by any University of the World. This programme is now conducted with different Universities of the State as well as with some colleges.
It is now a twelve hours programme conducted in three or four days with three or four hours classes in each day by 3/4 trained members as the faculty. At the end of the theoretical classes, trainees have to undertake field and project work including organising a blood donation camp. The end on written examination and viva voce are conducted on a pre announced date for the particular centre. All work related to examination namely question paper setting, printing, evaluation of answer scripts tabulation and publication of results are carried out by the Association and certificates to successful trainees are awarded by the Association and the concerned University or College jointly
